Captures of Netflix and other video streaming services appear black

Some video streaming services, including Netflix, restrict screenshots and screen recordings to prevent copyrighted video from being copied.

When protected video is captured with Gyazo, the video area may appear completely black or may not be captured correctly.
This can occur with both still-image captures and video recordings.

This is not a Gyazo malfunction.
It may be caused by content protection used by the video streaming service or viewing environment.

Capture restrictions cannot be disabled in Gyazo
Gyazo settings cannot disable content protection or capture restrictions used by video streaming services.
To share information about a video or title, use the service's official sharing feature or share the title page URL.

If other screens also appear black
If the desktop or other apps also cannot be captured correctly, rather than only the streaming video, a different issue may be causing the problem.
For troubleshooting steps, see Screenshots blank or totally black.

Notes
Capture results may vary depending on the video streaming service, title, browser, operating system, app, device, and other aspects of the viewing environment.
Review the video streaming service's terms of use and applicable copyright rules before capturing or sharing content.
